Reticello Low Bowl by Kenny Pieper

Description: Reticello is one of the most time consuming and challenging techniques in glassblowing. To create the reticello pattern, two twisted cane cups are fused together. The low spots between the canes create pockets of trapped air, creating little bubbles inside each diamond.
Kenny Pieper was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. He began his craft career studying at the Penland School of Crafts. Initially, he studied pottery but later fell in love with glass. Pieper lives in the mountains of North Carolina and produces an exquisite line of glass vessels and sculpture.
